You may be one of those who like Blogging but quickly get bored while writing content. If this situation satisfies your present condition, this post will be beneficial for you.

After reading this article, I will make sure you can write an article faster, and your productivity in content writing will definitely increase. Here I have shared some proven tips to become a productive content writer.

If you want to become successful in Blogging or Affiliate Marketing, content writing is one of the key factors you should improve. Content writing does not exhaust your physical energy, but it needs lots of mental energy.

So, without any further explanation, let’s see the points that can help you increase your productivity as a content writer.

10 Tips to Become a Productive Content Writer

How to Become Productive Content WriterPin

1. Prepare an Outline

If you are one of those who do not prepare an outline of the post before writing an article, then content writing will be challenging for you. An outline is basically the mapping and structure in which you are going to complete the article.

In the outline, you can include the headings, sub-headings, and bulleted points you will mention in the post. When I prepare the outline of an article, I feel 30-40% of the article has been completed.

Preparing an article outline is the first and most crucial step to becoming a productive content writer. If you do not have the habit of outline preparation, I strongly recommend you build this habit; you will definitely see changes in your productivity within a few days.

2. Make a Habit of Regular Writing

I have seen many of my blogger friends who quickly get bored while writing content, and as a result, they cannot update their blogs regularly with fresh content. You can say 50% of the work in blogging is about writing content. So, if you can’t write content regularly, it is challenging to succeed in blogging.

If you want to become a successful blogger or Productive Content Writer, you should practice writing regularly. While building a new habit is not a cup of tea for everyone, you have to practice it regularly.

No one is telling you to write 2000 words each day. First of all, make a habit of writing at least 400-500 words each day and practicing this regular writing for a few two to three weeks. I am sure you will definitely see changes in your writing speed and productivity.

After a few days, you will find writing 500 words is not a big deal for you, and then you can gradually increase the word count.

Practicing regular writing has become very helpful for me; when I started my blogging career, it was challenging for me to write even 300 words each day; I used to get mentally tired. But now, because of regular practice, I can quickly write one post a day.

3. Get Away From Distraction

If you want to become a productive content writer, you should get away from the things that easily distract you. While writing, you should be mentally stable and in a comfortable condition.

Previously I also used to make this mistake; after writing a few words, I used to check my Facebook feeds, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. And that was my biggest enemy that destroyed my productivity at that time. Once you start using your phone while writing, you will lose your creativity, and ultimately the quality of your content will become low.

It is better to write content whenever you are completely free when there is nothing to disturb you; it could be in the early morning or night. I personally prefer writing content for my blog late at night.

4. Read More Blog Posts

The only way to upgrade any skill is by reading more and more. Choose a few blogs from your niche, regularly visit them, and read their posts. Regularly reading your competitor’s blog posts will enhance your writing skills and improve your knowledge in that niche.

Make a list of the top 5 blogs of your niche and set a particular time to visit each of these five sites. You will know their marketing strategies, copywriting skills, writing format, and many more. This practice will help you to increase the quality of your content writing.

In my case, I am very interested in blogging and SEO niche. I built a habit of spending at least 15 minutes on popular SEO blogs like Search Engine Journal, Backlinko, Neil Patel’s blog, etc.

I hope you got a clear idea about choosing some blogs of your niche and how to use them to learn new writing skills to become a Productive Content Writer.

5. Do Proper Research Before You Start Writing

Before you start writing content, make sure you have done all the essential research needed to complete that article. Once you start writing, you should not look back or stop for anything; all the information should be already with you.

Spend more and more time while researching so that you do need not to stop while writing. I have seen many people who do research and writing simultaneously; this is not a good sign of a productive content writer. Productive writers focus on one thing at a time and do not improve in two activities at a time.

I am one of those who even prepare the H1, H2, H3, and H4 headings of the post before I start writing the article, and this practice helped me a lot to become productive while writing content.

6. Avoid Multitasking

For some work, Multitasking could be a good practice but not in blogging and content writing. If you want to include your multitasking character in content writing, things will be very clumsy for you. Content writing is serious work that needs your mind in a relaxed state; then only you can increase your writing speed and become productive.

If you wanted to do another activity like watching TV, it would ultimately take more time to complete the article, and you would lose your writing productivity. Whenever you start writing an article, you should be clear that you do not have any other work.

7. Use Grammarly

I have been in the content writing field for the past two years, and I can proudly say that Grammarly made my content writing journey much more effortless. It is one of the best writing productive tools available in the market.

For those who do not know about Grammarly, a quick introduction for you. Grammarly is basically an online writing assistant that automatically detects grammatical mistakes in your article and suggests the correct word in that place.

It comes in both the free version and the premium version. If you don’t have money to upgrade it, you can definitely use the free version. It provides many features in the free version also.

However, if you can, I strongly urge you to buy Grammarly Premium as that’s where all the value is. If you’re a student, Grammarly has provided a discount for you.

It is only because of Grammarly that we can write anything without worrying about grammar. The task that Grammarly does, if we do that task manually, it would take hours or even a day to correct all the grammar in a 2000-word article.

Using Grammarly is very easy and the most productive tool for writers. If you are using the Google Chrome browser, you need to install the Grammarly extension and activate it. After that, it will automatically do all the tasks for you. You can forget about grammatical mistakes. It is one of the best tools for productive content writing.

8. Try to Write at Your Favorite Time

Favorite time in the sense when you feel a more energetic and mentally happy state. Content writing will not exhaust your physical energy, but you will feel mentally exhausted. You can’t write good quality content when you are mentally exhausted, so you prefer writing content in a situation when you are mentally ready to write.

Observe the best time when you are mentally more energetic and set that time as a content writing hour on your day-to-day schedule. This practice will help you, to some extent, to increase your productivity as a content writer.

9. Take Breaks

Breaks are essential in any kind of work to bring out the best creativity from you. I personally follow the 350-15 formula. That is, after writing every 350 words, I usually take a break of 15 minutes. It helps me to be active while writing and put my best knowledge into the article.

Remember, taking a break does not mean you become busy with your phone and mess up with your social media. If you do this, you will definitely lose your productivity. Instead, in the break time, feel some fresh air and talk with your family members.

10. Save the Draft and Read it

Well, this point is not for productivity.

But it is one of the most important steps everyone should follow while writing content. Once you finish writing the whole article, make sure you draft it and read it thoroughly from beginning to end carefully. There may be several tiny mistakes that you did not see during writing.

So, give some time to read the full article, it will hardly take a few minutes. This practice will be very beneficial for you as a content writer.

Conclusion

These are a few tips that really helped me to become a productive content writer. If you follow all the steps mentioned above regularly, I am sure you will become a high-quality and productive content writer.

I hope this article about how to become a productive content writer is helpful to you. If you think this article is helpful for you, don’t forget to share it with your blogger and content writer friends.
